Jacques Helmus

Jacques Helmus began the music at the age of 5. He studied with David Liebman (saxophonist of Miles Davis) and at the Eastman School of Music (USA). He collaborates on stage or in the studio with: Alan Stivell, Michel Leeb, Francis Lalanne, Jean-Michel Kajdan, Jean-Paul Dréau, Liane Foly, Rika Zarai, Guy Mardel, Jean Lou Longnon, Patrick Moraz (Ex Yes), Nicolas Peyrac,“ Joss Baselli, Thierry Durbet, Michel Perez, Regional Jazz Orchestra, André Manoukian, Brian Bennett, Steve Swallow, John Taylor, Adam Nussbaum/Jay Anderson, Bill Dobbins Manu Katché and Erik Truffaz, Jerome Regard, Amrat Hussain.

Jacques Helmus founded the AIMRA jazz school in 1981 to 1997. He participates Participation in the film “Autour de Minuit” by Bertrand Tavernier with Herbie Hancock, Tony Williams and Wayne Shorter. Five CDs under his name and two with the group TOUCH and Brian Bennett Jacques Helmus also teaches jazz saxophone at the Lyon Conservatory until 2021
